Today I will be able to:
- Engage in routine reading and comprehending of literature/nonfiction literary texts
- Review test taking tips for the upcoming EOCs
- Conduct short as well as more sustained research projects to answer a question (including a self-generated question) or solve a problem
- Gather relevant information from multiple authoritative print and digital sources, using advanced searches effectively; assess the strengths and limitations of each source in terms of the task, purpose, and audience; integrate information into the text selectively to maintain the flow of ideas, avoiding plagiarism and overreliance on any one source and following a standard format for citation.
AGENDA
1. Independent Reading
2. Journal:
Response #1:
With only 2 more Monday’s left in the semester, what is your goal for this class? Be specific. Do not just put, “my goal is to get a ___”
What have you done this semester to achieve this goal? Or, what you have done to jeopardize achieving this goal?
If you could change anything about how YOU have approached or dealt with this semester, what would it be?
If you could choose to keep anything to keep the same about how YOU have approached or dealt with this semester what would it be?
With only one FULL week left in the semester what is your plan to cross the finish line?
Response #2:
How are you feeling about the EOCs this week?
How do you plan to achieve success on the EOCs?
What would be your argument for keeping the EOCs as 20% of your grade, OR changing it .01%. State your position and “why “ that supports your position. Also, address the counter argument in your statement.
